Yosemite panoramas

I took a great trip to Yosemite a couple weekends ago.  It was my first trip to the park and we were greeted with great weather and small crowds since it was so late in the season.  I have yet to get all the photos from the trip uploaded since my internet connection isn’t cooperating, but I did manage to put together some cool panoramas.  I used the new Microsoft Image Composite Editor instead of the previous method.  It was much quicker and came out with comparable if not better results.  Another cool feature that this software gives you is the ability to create full size zoom-able panoramas that utilize Silverlight (wish it was Flash, but it’s still pretty cool).  Note: The Silverlight stuff isn’t currently working.  Trying to fix this right now.

Adding thumbnails to a Drigg site

I started up the site BananaCut a couple months ago and had a lot of help from Andy designing the look and feel of the site.  One of the big changes that really made the site feel complete (other than the plaid) was the addition of thumbnails for each stories teaser.  The teaser is the short version of the story used on the front page of the site and the site was kind of boring with out some visual flair.

I stiched together my very first panorama this afternoon.  I used Hugin to do the stitching and follwed this photo-stitching tutorial at Lifehacker for some tips along the way.  Overall the result turned out pretty darn good.  It was a bit dark in the theater for my little point and shoot so some of the pictures turned out a bit blurry, but overall the panorama turned out great.  This is only 5 photos stiched together, next time I’ll make sure to get a whole bunch of photos for something a bit more impressive.

I tried two different methods of stitching the photos together, you can see both of them above.  I kinda like the second one better.  Your comments are appreciated.
