Fat Man…Skinny Wallet

Stumbled upon a blog today called Fat Man…Skinny Wallet. The post that brought me there made me think of two things I have been meaning to do in Los Angeles.

Many moons ago, I used to live in Los Feliz, which is one of the “hip” little neighborhoods in Los Angeles that all the yuppies who are not scions of producers or actors flock to. It’s heavily featured in the movie Slackers. It’s also the home of one of my favorite LA landmarks, the Griffith Park Observatory.

I picked Los Feliz because it was a great walkable neighborhood with all the shops and theaters I could desire, and it had a subway station within walking distance.

  1. Go to the Griffith Park Observatory.
  2. Take public transportation more often.

I’m okay with #2 for now since I currently carpool with two other people to work and I’ve been trying to take the bus more when I go out at night. #1 on the other hand really needs to be dealt with. Hopefully over the holiday break I can find some time to get down to the observatory for sunset. The picture above should be enough motivation for me to go check it out. If not, this next one should.

Breakfast with the BOFAs

This weekend I was lucky enough to be invited to Breakfast with the BOFAs at BOFA and Cheyennes swanky Silverlake place. Everyone had a great time, I wish I had taken more pictures. I thought I would share this nice camera phone pic of the incredible french toast creation in the works. This was before the bourbon-pecan topping was applied, which was amazing. Do yourself a favor and follow the link to look at the full menu. Hopefully more of these events will be happening in the future (with more pictures next time, I promise).

Not clean, not yet dirty clothes
