image from Curbed LA
Apparently this behemoth is coming to Downtown LA. I’ve been passively paying attention to the development at LA Live. It seems like it will bring a lot to Downtown LA, but once I saw this image on Curbed LA I couldn’t stop wondering how weird the LA skyline will look once this is completed. The big tall one there is a new Ritz-Carlton hotel (I still can’t believe it will really be that tall).
This picture makes me happy I moved further from downtown simply for the fact that traffic in that area is going to be even worse once this whole project is complete. At the same time I’m kind of excited for an ESPN zone to come to LA because I’m not getting cable in my new apartment and watching big sports games there should be fun.
Still wishing there was an easy way for me to travel the ~7 miles from my apartment to this big bad entertainment complex on public transportation.
I’ve been waiting for new MacBook Pros to be released for a while now (since X-Mas to be exact). I really just wish Apple would go for it and release the darn things. Latest rumors point to tomorrow for the imminent release although the rumor websites aren’t sure if this is for sure or not. Anyway, I’m really hoping that I can get myself a new laptop in the next week or so. My poor old PowerMac G4 is feeling its age lately.
Edit: Jackpot!

I decided I would start posting some of the photos I’ve taken over the past couple years that are just collecting dust on my computer, here’s round 1.This photo is from Leiout 2003 finals, Carbomb vs. Beeach. It was taken with my old Pentax Optio 330GS pointed right into the sun to get the effect you see here. I love the sense of action from the cutter near the middle (I think thats Greg Husak) and the thrower just releasing his throw. Add that to the craziness of the sun and the oranges from the camera freaking out about pointing into the sun and the photo turned out well for an ultimate photo from a point and shoot camera. I’ve always wondered if I should get rid of the sunspot or not, still undecided.
