So here I am, with my own shiny new blog on this domain name I’ve had forever. Here’s the story of why I decided to finally go ahead and join the Web 2.0-times.
I went up to Oakland/Berkeley last weekend to visit Liza. We had an amazing time drinking too much on Fri night, having Thanksgiving in October on Sat night and going to visit Whit and Claire on Sun night. I hadn’t seen Whit or Claire since they embarked on their around the world adventure so it was amazing to be able to catch up with them. Claire had an epic battle with the stove which was insisting on freaking-out-F7-style instead of cooking our fantastic dinner for us. Liza and I eventually threatened it with multiple Google searches consisting of “F7/error/kenmore/i’ll kill you stove if you don’t cook our dinner” to the point that it decided that it was time to shape up and cook some dinner. All of this just made our meal that much sweeter giving us an extended pre-dinner wine and cheese snack. The extra wine helped lubricate our post-dinner conversation (and the other bottle of wine and those beers).
Our conversation centered mostly around Whit’s new job at Seesmic as a video editor. We talked and talked about the coolness of this new website/idea and the magic of Web 2.0. It really reminded me about some of the things I had been interested in about a year ago but had completely forgotten about. I had a Twitter account but never used it. I had tried to start a blog but decided I was a crappy writer. I feel like I’ve been such a consumer of Web 2.0 but what I was really excited about was contributing and being part of the party. Since then I’ve been twittering regularly and saying to myself “I wish I could fit this all into a Twitter, but I just can’t,” so those thoughts that are too complete and logical to fit on Twitter will now land here. I’m an official creator now and it’s a good feeling.
To top it all off, tonight I was sitting at Tribal Cafe talking with Sarah. Having a great conversation about Seesmic/Twitter/YouTube while enjoying a Pirates Chai and Web 2.0 came and found me. There was a stand up comedy show at Tribal so Sarah and I decided to go outside and chat out there. After the show ended the owner of Tribal was filming the participants and getting their reactions so that he could post them on his YouTube channel later, I’m pretty sure I even got a little cameo at the end of the video. It was a bizarre coincidence considering our conversation but it seemed like the perfect cap to the events of the past week.
Sorry Web 2.0 for consuming so much, now I’m a contributor!

Hey ATM, your theme is broken. Let me know if you have any questions as I am fairly WP savvy. Regardless, nice photos up top and good to have you on the Intertron. And if you have not already, make sure you activate the Akismet anti-spam plugin: it’s a lifesaver.
Yeah, I think I’ve got the theme all fixed up. Most of the problems I’m having are because this is hosted on an IIS server, so its tough to track down the fixes easily. I’ll be sure to contact you if I have any other problemos.
