Congress, WTF?

I was at Good on Sunset last night eating dinner with BOFA and Cheyenne and in the background ESPN was reporting on the Congressional hearings regarding steroids in baseball. Congress has many different functions, I’m sure I don’t understand all of them, but why is one of them investigations sports scandals? A blog I read, Free Money Finance, identified the current round of sports scandals being investigated by Congress and it’s a bit ridiculous that taxpayers are financing these inquiries. They include the NFL for videotaping, MLB for steroids and the NBA for gambling.

I think Congress should get on with more important things and leave professional sports to figure out their problems on their own. Also, the NHL deserves a pat on the back for being congressional-inquiry-less. Well done NHL, stay classy.
